Scope: The K+S Legacy Potash Project is a solution mine, rather than a traditional underground mine. Ames Construction Canada completed the earthworks for the 30-kilometre rail line, cooling ponds, and tailings ponds. Members employed by Canonbie completed civil work as well as concrete foundations for well pads and various structures. Kiewit was responsible for the mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation on three buildings that turn the potash brine into potash pellets. Members employed by Westwood completed the underground electrical installation and the booster pump house.
