Scope: The CNRL Horizon Oil Sands operation is an open-pit mine that has been constructed over two phases. CLAC members made up well over 50 percent of the manpower for Phase 1 of this project (2004-2008). Phase 1 produced 125,000 barrels of oil per day. Phase 2 is almost complete, and CLAC members completed approximately 40 percent of the work.
