CLAC—Canada’s multicraft construction union—represents skilled tradespeople working in every sector of the construction industry. Our unique approach to labour relations promotes mutual respect, a sense of pride and belonging, and dignity in the workplace.
Formed in 1952, CLAC is one of Canada’s fastest-growing unions. Operating through 15 member centres, we are the country’s largest national, independent, multisector union representing over 60,000 workers in almost every sector of the economy.
Labour boards in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and the Canada Industrial Relations Board have certified CLAC over 2,500 times.
Our partnership approach enables our members, signatory contractors, and construction industry partners to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget. Our goal is to establish a true partnership between employers and employees—labour harmony—for the benefit of everyone.
